As artistic director of Jazz Sudbury Festival, Allan is passionate about the local music scene and promotes jazz music throughout the year with various concerts and club dates throughout Sudbury. Allan was a member of the music faculty at Laurentian University and Cambrian College for the past 35 years. He is an accomplished clarinetist, saxophonist and flutist and has performed on many world stages including Carnegie Hall, Le Festival International de Primptemps de Bourge, France and The Montreux International Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Allan has been an adjudicator for the Northern Ontario Music Festival, Musicanada Festival and FACTOR (Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings).
